Who gets Arthritis?                

It most commonly starts among people between the ages of 40 and 60. It’s more common in women than men. There are drugs that can slow down an over-active immune system and therefore reduce the pain and swelling in joints.

What are the causes of Arthritis?

The causes vary according to the type or form of arthritis. Possible causes may include:

  1. Injury, which can lead to degenerative arthritis
  2. Abnormal metabolism, which can cause gout and calcium pyrophosphate deposition disease (CPPD)
  3. Genetic inheritance, which can lead to developing osteoarthritis
  4. Infection such as Lyme disease, which can trigger arthritis symptoms
